Poultry Shares
June through November Feisty Acres offers poultry and egg shares to its CSA members. CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture" and fosters a direct relationship between the eater and the farmer. When you become a member of our CSA, you purchase a "share" of poultry or eggs before the harvest season begins. There are many advantages to participating in a CSA program: eat ultra fresh poultry full of vitamins and flavor; exposure to new ingredients and ways of cooking; opportunities to visit the farm; and develop a meaningful connection between your food and the farmers who raise it. All members of the farm's CSA receive 10% off any poultry, eggs, or merchandise purchase made outside of their regular share.
Poultry Shares are $600 for six months. You may choose to pick up your share at one of the following locations, once a month:

Saturdays at FitFoods on the North Fork of Long Island
Saturdays at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, Brooklyn
Wednesdays at Union Square Greenmarket, Manhattan
Chicken Egg Shares
Runs June 2024 through November 2024. Receive 4 dozen eggs monthly. Pick ups will be every other week** and will include reminder emails to keep you up to date! Each pick up will include 2 dozen farm fresh chicken eggs from our pasture raised flock. Chicken egg share is $200 for six months.
**If your pick up location is the North Fork, you will receive 4 dozen eggs once a month.

Monthly Poultry Share: $600
Each month members receive an offering of fresh or frozen poultry. What’s available changes every month and can include: quail, French guinea fowl, chicken, and specialty chickens (such as Cornish hens or Silkie). For November, all members receive a heritage OR broad breasted bronze Thanksgiving turkey. We even provide recipes on how to cook our unique products. Pick ups run June through November.
In 2023 our Poultry CSA members received meat and eggs valued at $735 for just $575 (last year’s share price)! Below is what was available month by month.

June: 2 whole broiler chickens (4-4.5 lbs each), 2 bone in chicken breasts (1.5 lbs. package), 1 chicken liver mousseline (4 oz), 1 lemon curd (8 oz)

September: 2 Heritage/Standard Bred Chickens (4 - 6 lbs each), 1/2 Heritage/Standard Bred Chicken (1.25 - 1.5 lbs.)

October: 1 stew hen, 1 whole broiler chicken (3.5 lbs.), 2 whole quail (0.75 - 1 lb. package), necks & backs for making soup/stock (1.5 lbs), 1 quart pasture raised chicken stock, 1 lemon curd

November: 1 whole broad breasted bronze turkey, sizes vary upon member requests. Average turkey weight given to CSA members: 15 lbs.
